Finding the best Android tablet is not an easy task. In order to be happy with your choice you will have to check the enourmous amount of available offers from some of the most popular brands and some of the not so well known Chinese Android tablets.
Before you start reading the specs of the tablets on the market, there are a few questions you will need to answer.
1. What is the main purpose you will use your tablet for?
This is one of the most important question when searching for the best Android tablet for your needs. The answer to this question will help you decide how big the screen will be.
For most of the tasks I would reccomend a 10 inch Android tablet. On a 10 inch screen you will have a lot more space for all sorts of information, more detailed picture of the movies you watch on it.
For your kids I would reccomend a 7 inch screen. 7 inch tablets are less expensive, weight less and are easier to handle by a child. This size is also suitable for reading text and listening to music.
2. How much you want to pay for your new Android tablet?
Setting a price range will help you a lot in your decision. Chinese brand 7 inch tablets start at as low as $100 and 10 inch tablets at about $150. Tablets from brands like Asus, Samsung or Acer start at $200+ to $500+.

There are also a few other specs you have to pay attention to.
Screen resolution – the bigger, the better. Bigger screen resolution means more detailed picture.
Processor – the cheapest models are equiped with 600 or 800 MHz processor which is quite slow. The best Android tablet models come with dual core processors with frequency above 1 GHz.
RAM, Storage and memory card slots. RAM of 1 GB or more is enough for everything you can run on a tablet, 16 GB of storage capacity will hold a lot of music and movies and memory card slot is quite a helpful device on a tablet.
Connectivity. If you can not live without Internet and often have very important tasks to complete ASAP 3G is a must for you, otherwise Wi-Fi is enough.
Camera. For video conversations at least a from camera is needed. If you want to be able to shoot photos and video a back camera is needed as well.
Touch Screen. There are two types of touch screens: capacitive and resistive. Capacitive screens are more comfortable for the everyday use.
Battery life. Android tablets last from 4 hours to as much as 10 hours.
Other. GPS, Bluetooth, Gyroscope and HDMI are among the things you might also want your best Android tablet to have… Or maybe not.
